Summer Creeking

So the summer got off to a dry and sunny start to many peoples delight, except for the average paddler but then July arrived. with a solid two weeks of rain, it was just enough to get some of the better runs up and going. A last minute decision at 12 o clock at night made the paths to a good day paddling and a possible first descent.
So we arrived out at the Owenglen. The Owenglen is a 10kilometer run, most of which was flat, the very start consisted of tight constrictor like drops, three main drops very close to from each other. these drops would be excellent with higher water levels but we had to make do with rocky low conditions. the next notable drop is a 10ft clean drop(see picture) into a big pool. onwards from here is Trojan falls, a tight slide like S bend. We were unsure if it was runnable because at the bottom of the falls all the water pushed right up onto of a large rock which changed the direction of the flow right into a wall with just enough space to fit a boat by (that's if your going straight). So myself and Barry said we would give it a shot. Barry went first and nailed the line, then it was my turn and all went well. I was stoked but I found out that my camera wasn't turned on while I went done the drop. So I decided Id run the drop again to get the footage and ill let the footage speak for itself (ill be posting it up soon).
after this river continues on for about 4 or 5 kilometers, there is a few more small drops but nothing spectacular
The river definitely need more water to make worth while but it was still good for a summer run.

(hot as balls falls ^)
